When you start researching kitchens in Ireland, three terms come up repeatedly, bespoke, made-to-measure, and flat-pack. They’re used loosely, sometimes interchangeably, and the distinctions between them aren’t always explained clearly.

Built from standard components in fixed sizes, typically in 100mm increments, assembled on site. Typically costs €3,000–€10,000. Best for budget/rental properties and rooms with standard dimensions.
Limitations: Standard module sizes mean compromises in irregular rooms. Lifespan typically 10–15 years.
Standard carcasses used, but door sizes, some dimensions, and finishes are adjusted. Typically costs €8,000–€25,000. A good balance of quality and cost for standard kitchen spaces.
Limitations: Carcasses remain in standard sizes. Still constrained by the supplier’s system.
Designed and manufactured from scratch, entirely to your specification. No standard modules. Starts at approximately €15,000–€20,000. Lifespan 25–35 years.
